Before this year, I had never really given my nutrition a second thought. I always tried to make “healthy” choices in my food selections, but I didn’t monitor my portions much at all. I mean, I was making “healthy choices,” right? So, who cared how much sautéed veggies, how many pieces of baked chicken, or how many acai bowls I ate? I was just fueling my body since I was working out almost every day.
Well, when New Year’s came, and it was time to make resolutions, I realized my weight was up a few pounds higher than what I was used to (thanks to the holidays), I hadn’t PRd any of my lifts in over a year, and I was generally just tired almost all the time. I was having trouble focusing on my work and in the gym. So, I decided it was time for a change, and the one thing I had never monitored seemed like it could be the answer to helping me achieve my resolutions.
I tried another diet plan where I monitored my macros, but I was hangry all the time & only had minimal results (lost about 4-5 pounds over about 2 months, basically just some of the holiday weight). Then I started talking to Lauren more and more frequently about my nutrition and how I was feeling. She was so much more supportive and helpful at answering my questions, that I decided to switch to her macros plan. I no longer felt stupid asking all of my questions, and I received same day answers to everything. Lauren actually cares about my progress and how I’m feeling throughout it, not just the numbers and statistics. She has helped me to better understand my nutrition and what my body needs to achieve amazing results.
Since working with Lauren, I have participated in a Ragnar Relay Race, run my first half marathon (without having to stop once!), worked full-time, and continued to Crossfit throughout it all. Despite the increases in my running mileage on top of my regular routine, following Lauren’s template has almost always kept me feeling full and highly functional. Her template has helped me with portion control while still enabling me to incorporate foods that I love (donuts & acai bowls!!!) in moderation. There’s only one week that comes to mind where I was really feeling less than ideal, and Lauren was able to review my macros and adjust my plan so that within a few days I was feeling full and happy again, and on top of that, I even lost a couple more pounds, despite the fact that she gave me more food! Eating more food and losing weight, I mean, how much better can it get? Thanks to Lauren’s planning and all of her support to motivate me and keep me on track, I’m in the best shape of my life. I weigh less than I did when I graduated high school, I have less body fat than ever, and I’m pushing myself to do new things that I never thought I was capable of doing! If you’re thinking about trying a diet plan, but aren’t sure you’ll succeed, working with Lauren will significantly improve your odds of success.
